Great improv depends on trust, collaboration and self-confidence; on saying 'yes, and'. We know that when we perform as a collective, our stories, characters and scenes are rich, vibrant and built from the strengths of each performer.
This workshop is run by our friends at Melbourne Unscripted, who debuted their first improvised show, ‘Noir Unscripted’ at Fringe Festival 2022.
Company Director Greg Lavell and Ensemble lead Isabella Valette are some of Melbourne’s most experienced improv practitioners. Over the past 12 years, they’ve taught beginner improv classes, workshops in schools, and have facilitated corporate workshops with the likes of NAB, Telstra and Commonwealth Bank.
But whilst there’s plenty of things to learn, improv is mainly about having fun, letting loose and finding the creative child within.

“The improv workshop with Melbourne Unscripted was definitely a unique experience for my team. The thought of performing in front of others sounded daunting at first, but Greg and Isabella warmed us up with fun activities and games to the point that improvising felt really natural. Even the hardcore introverts had a good time! I loved that this workshop was the perfect team bonding class, because we were able to be playful with each other. 5 stars!”
